How We Work
Our Standards
Every finding we publish and every recommendation we make rests on the same handful of rules. This page states them plainly, so they can be checked, not just trusted.
Two Tiers of Evidence
Every Koru Research Institute report distinguishes between two kinds of evidence, and says so explicitly rather than blending them together.
Primary data published by organizations such as CAQH, the American Medical Association, AAPPR, NSI Nursing Solutions, and AMN Healthcare. These figures are cited directly to their source.
Figures reported by industry publishers, revenue cycle, credentialing, and healthcare M&A advisory sources. Directionally consistent with one another, but not peer reviewed, and always labeled as industry estimates in the text.
Where a figure could be read either way, we say which tier it belongs to. If a source updates a number in a later edition, our most recent report reflects the newer figure and notes the prior one where it adds useful context.
Independence and Disclosure
Marcus J. Frazier is the Founder and Managing Partner of Koru Health, and every Koru Research Institute report discloses that fact plainly in its own Declaration of Interest, filed with every SSRN submission. The published position is straightforward:
The author has a financial interest in the subject matter insofar as Koru Health provides consulting services related to the operational challenges discussed in each report. The research, analysis, and conclusions presented are based on independently gathered and cited third-party data. No client, partner, or external party reviews or influences the findings prior to publication.
No report is written to fit a client engagement, current or prospective. If the data leads somewhere inconvenient, that is what gets published.
Confidentiality
Conversations with Koru Health are confidential. Non-disclosure agreements are available before any diagnostic engagement begins, and are standard practice for organizations preparing for a transaction. This website itself does not collect, store, or transmit Protected Health Information under any circumstance. Full detail on how information submitted through this site is handled is in our Privacy Policy.
Published, Not Just Claimed
Every Koru Research Institute report is indexed across multiple independent platforms, not just hosted on our own site, so the work can be verified by anyone, not just taken on our word.
This is the same standard we ask a client to apply to their own operational data before trusting it. We hold our own research to it first.
